Scouting does not mean anything when it comes to coaches.

I would ignore reputation. I have never used it and always focused mainly on how my coaches get along with each other and best ratings.

Now do not quote me on this, I think your reputation matters to who you can hire. Also, from experience if you are hiring and firing coaches constantly, which I did in an online league, I hard a hard time getting better coaches. Now, that might just be me making that the reason in my head, but after a few years of not hiring or firing anyone and also winning a world series, I seem to be able to hire a lot more coaches. My rep is also really high, but I honestly do not know for sure if any of this effects hiring coaches. It is just a guess from what I think I have experienced.
