Cards news: July 16 -- McMullen and Sundberg to to Dodgers for Koosman and Roberts

The St. Louis Cardinals have completed a four-player deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers sending 3B Ken McMullen and C Jim Sundberg out west in exchange for left-handed starting pitcher Jerry Koosman and left-handed relief pitcher Dave Roberts.
The 32-year-old Koosman has gone 8-9 this season in 19 starts.
Roberts, 30, has gotten into 12 games and not posted any decisions or saves but owns a 2.12 ERA over 17.0 innings.
It's been a rough season for the 33-year-old McMullen as he has hit just .218 with six home runs and 20 RBIs in 59 games/40 starts.
Sundberg, who wasn't happy being the backup catcher to Bill Freehan, had gotten into 25 games/19 starts during which he hit .242 with four RBIs.
