“We felt if we could slow down Burkett, we would win the game,” said Captains manager John Carbine. “They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down.”
Burkett is currently batting .348 with 1 home run, 115 runs scored, and 67 RBIs. His on-base percentage (OBP) stands at .417.
