Joe Corbett Leads Cincinnati to 4-0 Shutout Victory Over Philadelphia
Cincinnati Wildcats pitcher Joe Corbett delivered an outstanding performance at Thunder Ballpark, securing a 4-0 shutout victory over the Philadelphia Thunder. Corbett held the Thunder to just 7 hits while issuing 2 walks and recording 5 strikeouts.
“It was just one of those games where everything went right. I threw a lot of strikes,” Corbett said after the game. “And the pitches they did get to hit, they didn’t do anything with them.”
The 22-year-old’s solid outing contributes to what has been a strong season. Corbett’s current record stands at 15-10, with 97 strikeouts and 91 walks over 238 innings pitched and a 3.18 ERA.
Brooklyn’s Joseph Bammert Out for the Season After Injury
Brooklyn Hitmen’s Joseph Bammert saw his season come to an abrupt end during the team’s 7-5 loss to the Boston Bears. Bammert suffered a torn abdominal muscle, an injury expected to sideline him for 5 weeks.
This latest setback is part of an injury-laden season for Bammert, who has only managed to start 85 games. Despite these challenges, he has maintained a .302 batting average, contributing 3 home runs, 68 runs scored, and 28 RBIs when healthy.
