Given the early start of the season, it ends mid-Sept. At this point, I'd prefer loses for a better draft pick.

The first series is against Honolulu, two games to wrap up what started the last day of August. We split them but it's a series loss in the end. 1-1

Next up is Monterrey. We take the first two but can't complete the sweep. Spoiler, it's our only series win of the month. At least there's only 5. 2-1

Over to the Big Trains of Nauc where we take game one but use up all our offense, falling in the next two, scoring two runs each. 1-2

Division rival and leader Managua comes into Montreal next. They impose their will. Salt in the eyes. We take the last game, saving embarrassment in front of the home crowd. 1-2

Playoff rival (not this year) San Luis is the final series of the season-- away. Again, we take game 1 before losing the next two. The last game is an 8-1 loss and sums up the season. 1-2

Top Lynx prospect Gross hits only .229 in the month but it's a small sample size of 38 PA.

6-8 for the month. Time to watch the playoffs from home. The Big Trains win the WS. Not totally unexpected but they were middle of the pack rather than favorites.

A little offseason news. Crecelius sadly takes our arby offer. Terrible luck. Maybe we can trade him. I sign CF Puentes. He's a 4 time all star but coming off a 5 month injury. We sign him to 5 years/15.5mill. It's a bit of a risk but I think it's worth the upside. He sures us up at CF after Arnold's decline and dismal .172 avg performance. Montreal cold apparently kills attributes. We'll eventually have to move Puentes over to LF but he should do the job for now. We're also looking for a catcher. I can't agree to rental Fuentes who had a solid string for us. Too many years.

A look at the final team of the year. Brackmann and Koch turned in solid rookie years. I hope to see more from them. Davis and English led the team in their respective categories.

In other news, the budget didn't go up but the owner at least wiped clean out neg money available. We'll need that when we sign our INT amateurs.
