Bausewine Shuts Down Philadelphia in 6-0 Victory
George Bausewine delivered a spectacular performance on the mound today, leading the New York Saints to a dominant 6-0 win over the Philadelphia Thunder. The Thunder could not find an answer to Bausewine’s pitching, managing only 4 hits against him while failing to score a single run. Bausewine, who did not record any strikeouts, kept Philadelphia off balance throughout the game.
The popular pitcher received a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he exited the field, with the applause continuing until he returned to tip his cap in appreciation.
"Saints fans are the best fans, in my opinion," Bausewine said after the game. "It's a great feeling to throw a shutout under any circumstances, but to do it with the crowd behind you like that is just incredible."
For the season, Bausewine has posted a solid 14-10 record in 28 starts, with a 3.65 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 234 innings.
