McGraw Extends Hitting Streak in Americans' 15-4 Blowout of Captains
John McGraw, right fielder for the Washington Americans, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with a solid performance in his team’s 15-4 victory over the Louisville Captains at Captains Ballpark.
“I don't really know why it's even happening,” McGraw said with a grin after the game. “So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends.”
In the game, McGraw walked in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd and 8th, flied out in the 4th, and hit an RBI single in the 5th, while also drawing another walk in the 6th.
For the year, McGraw is hitting an impressive .421 with 77 RBIs, 1 home run, and 87 runs scored, continuing to be a driving force for the Americans as they aim for a strong finish to the season.
