The Columbus Bandits secured a convincing 8-0 victory over the Cleveland Royals at Cleveland Grounds, thanks in large part to a stellar performance from starter Abner Powell. Powell limited the Royals to just 5 hits, showcasing his dominance on the mound.

"This is what every pitcher wants to do when they go out there," Powell said in his postgame press conference.

With this win, Powell improves his season record to 7-5 and boasts a solid 3.29 ERA over 14 starts. The Bandits continue to build momentum as they look to maintain their position in the standings.

Stump Wiedman of the Brooklyn Hitmen delivered a commanding performance, blanking the Pittsburgh Predators in a 6-0 win. The right-hander limited the Predators to just 5 hits while struggling with control, finishing the game with no strikeouts but issuing 8 walks.

"He's got some good stuff, but we should have done better than that," lamented Pittsburgh manager Norm Brooks after the loss.

Wiedman's strong outing brings his record to 6-5 this season, with 19 strikeouts over 102.1 innings pitched and a 5.28 ERA. The Hitmen will look to build on this impressive performance as they continue their campaign.
