So Rusty Staub was a big supporter of the "Tunnel to Towers" charity for the families of First Responders who were hurt in the line of service. And because of Rusty, the Mets as a whole have taken the charity to heart.

Today I saw a lovely new ad where Terry Collins talks about how in 2001 he was coaching for the Devil Rays, and the first games played in NYC after 9/11 were TB at NYY (the Mets were in Pittsburgh) and Wade Boggs (coaching in TB, having finished out back home after his time in Pinstripes) had all these local contacts and Terry was really impressed by the efforts and so forth.

A fine ad from Collins…but what happened to the previous Mets spokesman for T2T? A fellow named "Peeeeeete Alonso", he did a lot of great spots. But now…

Does Pete getting replaced imply that a little birdie told the head of the charity that the Polar Bear may be about to migrate? (Was that birdie named "Scott Boras"?) I don't want to give into paranoia, but I'm starting to twitch, ngl.
