When the ball is hit he either runs and gets thrown out or goes back to third. He goes back and the 3Bman throws to second. If he runs after the 3Bman throws to second then I'd say the pivot man can throw him out at home much of the time If you're judging this on the end of the DP to first being close, remember the batter started running when he he the ball and the runner on third can't start until after the ball is fielded and after the 3Bman throws to second.
Also, if you're basing anything you've posted on what you saw in the animation, you need to forget that. The animation is not data..
