Watched the first four innings before heading to bed like a good boy, and if you put the first four innings of the second game next to the first seven innings of the first game, you'd be hard pressed to find a difference.
But go ahead, if you want to make a huge argument about how the Mets should have used Luis Severino, their only arm worth anything that would be ready for the Wild Card Series opener, in that - for the Mets - meaningless second game, I'll wait. They went to Lucchesi because in a meaningless game, you want a meaningless pitcher.
I don't subscribe to the notion of "oh you wanna knock out your division rival". No one cares. The Mets' chance to meet the Barves again in the LCS are tiny (1/16 if you consider each series to be played on the way a coin toss). They have no sensical reason to pick one opponent over the other.
