Stump Wiedman Dominates in 8-0 Shutout Against Philadelphia
Brooklyn Hitmen pitcher Stump Wiedman delivered a masterful performance, shutting out the Philadelphia Thunder 8-0 on just 5 hits. Wiedman was in complete control, striking out 4 batters and walking none in the dominant win.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Wiedman explained. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Brooklyn manager John Rallis praised Wiedman but emphasized the collective effort. "Stump pitched really well, but this was a solid performance by everyone. We got solid pitching, good defense, and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations," Rallis said after the game.
With this win, Wiedman improved to 14-10 on the season, maintaining a 3.34 ERA. In 207.2 innings pitched, he has racked up 74 strikeouts while holding opposing teams to a .262 batting average. His latest performance helped boost the Hitmen’s push in the standings.
