In a move that caught many by surprise, the Americans announced today the acquisition of 23-year-old right fielder Jack Doyle from the Pittsburgh Predators. In return, they sent 28-year-old veteran right fielder Harry Decker to Pittsburgh. While the trade may not be seen as groundbreaking, both teams are optimistic about the changes it will bring.

"This isn't the deal of the century," admitted a spokesperson for the Americans, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams. Doyle is young and has great potential, and we believe he can fit into our plans for the future."

Decker, who has compiled a lifetime batting average of .261 and 37 home runs, will bring experience and power to the Predators’ lineup. Pittsburgh is hoping that Decker’s veteran presence can bolster their outfield and add some needed offense to their roster.

As both players adjust to their new teams, only time will tell which club got the better end of this exchange.
