Scott Stratton Shuts Down Washington Americans in 1-0 Victory
The Washington Americans struggled to find their rhythm at the plate in a tough matchup against Baltimore Barons right-hander Scott Stratton. Stratton delivered a stellar performance, scattering 7 hits over 9 innings and blanking the Americans in a tight 1-0 victory.
"We had 7 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," said Washington manager Andrew Collins after the game. Stratton’s ability to keep the Americans off the scoreboard was key to the Barons’ success, as he struck out 3 batters and walked 2.
With this win, Stratton improved his season record to 15-11 and lowered his ERA to 3.53. His commanding presence on the mound continues to be a vital asset for the Barons as they make their push in the standings.
