Rebels Trade McQuery and Kennedy to Roughnecks for Blaisdell and Davies

In a noteworthy trade finalized today, the Boston Rebels have sent 31-year-old first baseman Mox McQuery and 24-year-old minor league right-handed pitcher Brickyard Kennedy to the St. Louis Roughnecks. In return, the Rebels will receive 30-year-old right-handed pitcher Dick Blaisdell and 24-year-old minor league right-handed pitcher George Davies. The deal is expected to be formally announced later this evening.
McQuery, who has struggled this season with a .264 batting average and no home runs, expressed a positive outlook on the move. "It means I'm wanted somewhere. At least one team sees potential in me," he commented.
On the other side, Blaisdell has made 7 relief appearances this season, notching a 1.86 ERA with 7 strikeouts in 9.2 innings, though he has yet to record a save.
The trade represents a strategic shift for both teams, aiming to address their respective needs as the season progresses.
