Morris Shuts Out Stallions in 5-0 Victory
Boston hurler Ed Morris delivered a stellar performance today, leading his team to a 5-0 shutout over the Philadelphia Stallions. Morris dominated the game with a mix of fastballs and changeups, allowing just 7 hits while striking out 4 and walking 2.
"I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup, and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball," Philadelphia manager Matt Huffman said, reflecting on Morris' effective pitching strategy.
Morris improves his record to 15-5 for the season, with a 3.15 ERA. Opposing teams are hitting .268 against him, and he has accumulated 76 strikeouts in 168.1 innings of work.
Stallions’ Geer Injured in Loss to Boston
The Philadelphia Stallions’ tough day was compounded by the loss of starting second baseman Billy Geer, who sustained a herniated disc in his back during today's game. Geer is expected to be sidelined for 1 to 2 weeks as he recovers from the injury.
Geer has been struggling at the plate this season, batting .196 with 1 home run, 28 runs scored, and 26 RBIs in 78 starts. His absence will further challenge the Stallions as they look to regain their footing.
