Billy Hamilton kept his impressive hitting streak alive, extending it to 25 games with 2 hits in the St. Louis Sox's 3-2 loss to the Washington Americans at St. Louis Grounds. Despite Hamilton’s continued success at the plate, his team fell short in a close contest.

Hamilton’s contributions included an RBI single in the 1st inning and another single in the 4th. He also flied out in the 6th and walked in the 8th.

"Billy has a nice streak going, but the scoreboard tells the important story today," said St. Louis manager Justin Gorman. "We lost, no matter how many hits anyone had."

Hamilton is currently batting .340 for the season with 81 hits, 2 home runs, 38 RBIs, and 45 runs scored.

Buster Hoover's pursuit of baseball history came to an end as his 27-game hitting streak was snapped in the Cleveland Royals' 9-1 loss to the Cincinnati Wildcats. Hoover went hitless in 4 at-bats, and the Wildcats’ victory put an end to the Royals' strong performance.

"Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Hoover said after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."

For the season, Hoover is hitting .351 with 1 home run, 26 RBIs, and 50 runs scored. He has 85 hits in 242 at-bats over 64 games.
