Ben Stephens Shines with Complete-Game Shutout in St. Louis Sox Win
Ben Stephens delivered a stellar performance for the St. Louis Sox, pitching a complete-game shutout to defeat the Baltimore Barons 7-0. Stephens was in control throughout, allowing just six hits while striking out eight and walking none.
"I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," Stephens said after the game. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings."
The shutout was a testament to Stephens' effectiveness and endurance on the mound. With this victory, Stephens improved his season record to 5-5. He has made 10 starts this year, boasting a 2.55 ERA and accumulating 39 strikeouts over 81.1 innings.
