Joe Blong Dominates Cleveland Royals in 7-0 Shutout
St. Louis Sox pitcher Joe Blong delivered a stellar performance at St. Louis Grounds, completely shutting down the Cleveland Royals in a 7-0 victory. Blong held Cleveland to just four hits in a complete-game shutout, striking out four and walking only one batter.
"He stayed aggressive and his ball was really moving," Cleveland manager Jordan Jackson said after the game, acknowledging Blong's command on the mound.
Blong, who has had a challenging season so far, was in total control from start to finish. Reflecting on his performance, Blong said, "If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs. I was making good pitches the entire game."
With this win, Blong improves his season record to 2-5, carrying a 4.41 ERA across eight starts. The Sox hope this commanding outing marks a turning point for their hurler as they continue through the season.
