Richardson's Streak Comes to an End
In a dramatic turn of events at Cardinals Ballpark yesterday, Hardy Richardson of the Chicago Cardinals saw his remarkable 23-game hitting streak abruptly halted by the Louisville Captains. The veteran third baseman, aged 35, went hitless in four at-bats during his team's narrow 4-3 triumph over the Captains.
Richardson, reflecting on his streak-breaking performance, remained pragmatic despite the disappointment, stating, "I think I only made it to 23 games because I got lucky once or twice. So I guess I can't complain too much that I got unlucky and broke the streak."
Throughout the season, Richardson has proven to be a formidable force at the plate, boasting a robust .359 batting average with 75 hits and 2 home runs. His contributions include scoring 43 runs and driving in 25 RBIs, solidifying his pivotal role in the Cardinals' lineup.
