PHILADELPHIA (July 25, 1867) – Port Jersey and Quaker State met for a late-season contest at the Philadelphia Cricket Grounds with both already eliminat-ed from TWC contention. After an even start, P.J. demolished their hosts:

Seven errors, four bases on balls, and a pair of passed balls represent no less than thirteen mistakes by Quaker State in the top of the 3rd, the most unforced errors anybody can remember seeing a team make in one half-inning of an NBBO game.
