I just thought it was a funny meme-like tangent to think of possible “buried the lede” headlines from baseball (or otherwise) history; really just the old, “Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?”. So I guess all I was trying to “add to the conversation” was a dose of levity. Of course, I don’t really fathom what someone could contribute to an actual debate about whether or not a game with a notable accomplishments function should include setting the single-game home run record should make the cut… beyond perhaps their own silence. My fabricated Larsen lead-in is certainly no more absurd than the pseudo-intelligent posture of some on this forum to attempt turning any critical observation—no matter how definitively legitimate—into a matter of rhetorical contention.
