Game 54: Boston Americans vs. Washington Senators

A hard-fought game that ended with pitcher Jack Chesbro smacking a walk-off RBI single to lead the Washington Senators (29-25) over the visiting Boston Americans (29-25) by a score of 4 to 3.

Jack Chesbro (8-4) picked up the win by limiting the Americans to 3 earned runs on 7 hits; Game Score 64. The up-and-down season of rookie Johnny Lush (7-7) continued, as he permitted 4 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits, 2 walks, and 1 wild pitch; Game Score 62.

The Senators limited offense came from Danny Hoffman (1 for 4, Triple, Run), Monte Cross (1 for 3, Double, RBI), and Kid Gleason (0 for 2, 2 Runs, 2 Walks). Boston's offense was generated by the bottom of the lineup efforts of Solly Hofman (2 for 4, Homerun, Run, RBI) and John Farrell (2 for 3, Triple).
