Th-th-th-that's all folks...
Despite a heroic effort from Nathaniel Lowe the Rays dropped the deciding game of their Wild Card series with Boston and saw their 2025 season come to an end. Lowe hit a pair of solo homers over the Monster to stake them to a 3-1 lead but Taj Bradley couldn't hold it in the bottom of the 4th and ended up throwing so many pitches to get through 4 that he had to leave early, forcing us to turn to the bullpen. And that was where it all went wrong as every reliever the Rays used allowed at least one run. Lowe once again came through with an RBI single in the 6th to tie it up but the pen gave the lead right back and that was the ballgame. This season was a nice bounceback from last year's sub-.500 playoff-missing team but the end result was like every other Rays postseason except for 2008 and 2020, eliminated at the first time of asking. (I'm counting series here, not the single-game wild card wins in 2013 and 2019).
