CBO Analysis
One month into the 2311 season, and the CBO has some good early league battles. No league leader has more than a two-game lead, meaning that there is a lot more excitement to come. Nordhagen Beach and FHE sit atop their associations, and 14 teams overall have a winning record.

Brotherhood League
Three teams are currently above .500, with the Party Boys atop the BL with a tie for the CBO's top record. Nahant is just one game back and Salem is down by three. County Crossing is currently in last place and tied for the second-worst record in the CBO.
The Bloodbugs' major problem has been pitching, where they are 14th in runs allowed (163), 14th in Starters ERA (6.23), and 11th in Bullpen ERA (5.63). The Bugs are allowing 6.27 runs per game, something that makes winning tough. The ace, College Luckyman (3-1, 3.77), has been the only pitcher pulling his weight, while Gavin Eviritts (1-5, 7.85), Bobby Carvajal (2-4, 6.38), and Whip Lashley (1-2, 8.31) are bleeding runs.
Institute League
Starlight has jumped out of the gates as the leader, with Fort Hagen and Lexington two games back. Bunker Hill is just three back. While Sunshine Tidings has struggled, they are currently on a five-game winning streak.
The Chemists have not been successful on offense (tied for 10th with 130 runs scored) or defense (tied for 9th with 137 runs allowed). One big struggle in scoring runs has been the inability to get runners on base with the 12th batting average (.251) and 13th OBP (.322) despite being 1st in home runs (52). One sign of that is 3B Ross Merchantman (.198/7/15). LF Family Sam Partridge (.253/10/21) is third in batting average. CF Hickory Dockery (.341/5/15) and SS Lernz Tentsleep (.284/9/21) have been the best hitters.
Minutemen League
University Point has a two-game lead with Atom, Spectacle Island, and Quincy all two games back. Jamaica Plain, Goodneighbor, and Southie are all several games below .500.
The Gunners got off to a slow start, got hot, and then have now lost three straight. Their offense has kept them in games, currently 4th in runs scored (152). Six players are all batting well above .300: LF Bob Bloodbug (.381/0/3), CF McGrew Gillins (.356/5/18), 2B Shirt Fowler (.352/1/13), 3B Ben Pettinato (.341/6/24), SS Pipewrench Mathis (.340/4/11), and RF Baywatch Fischler (.333/4/17).
Railroad League
FHE is still a surprise team atop the SCA with Roxbury just a game behind. Oberland is the only other team above .500, though Egret is .500 and Vault 81 is right behind them.
The Yao Guai are all offense, 2nd in runs scored (165) with only 8th in runs allowed (137). Last season's Red Rocket Rookie Award winner, LF Makin Jobear (.315/9/24), and 3B Dathomirian Zabrak (.384/6/16) have been leading the team with additional support from 1B Innis Sark (.295/6/21) and SS Hose Wallcrawler (.318/4/14).
CBO Standings
CBO Players of the Week
May 1 - It was some kind of week for Smiling Jack Moff of the Lexington Synths. First he hits the heck out of the ball, ripping it at a .600 clip and the next thing you know, he is voted the Player of the Week in the North Charles Association. Last week Moff went 12-for-20, chalked up 2 home runs and 6 RBIs and scored 6 runs. Not a bad week's work at all.
To date Moff has chalked up a .329 average with 3 home runs, driven in 8 runs and scored 15 times.
Dathomirian Zabrak has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 23-year-old third baseman of the FHE Yao Guai had a hot bat in the South Charles Association over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors.
Zabrak batted .464 with 13 hits in 28 at-bats, 3 home runs and 7 RBIs.
This year, Zabrak has 4 home runs and a .395 batting average.
May 8 - It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Grandson Quarles, the Nahant Celtics 24-year-old center fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for North Charles Association Player of the Week honors.
He ripped 14 hits in 19 at-bats, compiling a .737 average with 1 home run and 9 RBIs.
At present, Quarles is batting .374 and has collected 2 home runs, 21 RBIs, .442 OBP and scored 13 runs.
Watch Estheroots has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 21-year-old center fielder of the FHE Yao Guai had a hot bat in the South Charles Association over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors.
Estheroots batted .483 with 14 hits in 29 at-bats, 1 home run and 5 RBIs.
This year, Estheroots has hit at a .315 pace and produced 9 RBIs, 1 home run and scored 15 runs.
