I've never used the in-game backup feature of OOTP other than the weekly autosave\backup that keeps your .dat files in a separate folder.

What I've always done is make a zip file of my entire .lg folder that updates only files that have changed when I run the zip job. Sure one should expect the included backup to do it's job, but if I were having trouble using that I would certainly be doing my own as a way to protect my save.


If this were a widespread issue I think we would have seen it mentioned many times in the support forums. If it were happening to me I'd file a ticket and include as much info as possible on version, computer specs, etc. I'd think that more affective than a very general "I'm having an issue, please fix it" post left here. Hope you find an answer.
