Jack Burdock Goes Perfect 5-for-5 in Cardinals' 10-2 Rout of Predators
Chicago Cardinals' second baseman Jack Burdock put on a hitting clinic at Cardinals Ballpark, going an astounding 5-for-5 at the plate and driving his team to a resounding 10-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Predators. Burdock's flawless performance featured a series of well-timed and powerful hits that left the Predators' pitching staff in disarray.
"Burdock was a tough out," admitted Pittsburgh manager Ludwig Koubek in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
Burdock's impressive batting began with a single in the 1st inning, followed by an RBI single in the 3rd. He continued his streak with a double in the 5th, another double in the 6th, and capped off his perfect day with a single in the 8th.
This exceptional performance has bolstered Burdock's season stats, pushing his batting average to .299. In addition to his consistency at the plate, Burdock has also contributed 3 home runs this season.
