Just got a little frustrated last night trying to interlock letters. I ended up posting these but they're all wip... there's also a terrible flamingo head that I drew.
Dar es Salaam is begging for a DeS monogram - I've tried building from the st. Louis Cardinals, st Paul saints, and now the old San Diego Padres logo, but I'm not happy with them. Going to need another skill jump from me before I can make good monograms I think :|
Bucharest is from a commemorative coin image of this
classical music building. The purple half shading is based on the
Sydney Fc logo. I feel like that logo is absolutely amazing and I'll probably try to mimic it again with another city/landmark.

I've been experimenting with the inkscape patterns overlaid over block colors to give texture - I saw this done in a tutorial. It's hard to see but there are little dots on the front, and stripes on the back feather.
But the overall logo shape isn't based on anything, which is probably why it doesn't look that good to me yet... the banner and font aren't satisfying. Maybe it would be better hanging on a circle like the Athens logo. I don't know, it could be done, or I could totally redo it. One of the many baseball bird logos must be the correct one to mimic, not sure which.
Yeah that windup guy is from an old Cardinals program I saw, it probably works better as a league logo or something but I do like it. Maybe a little giraffe clip art under his leg idk
