Emailed offers, though, I've personally always ignored. They are either always awful, or now and then make me feel like I am cheating by accepting. Is anyone finding email offers different? I'd thought we were talking about shop now when I initially replied.

Emailed offers are generally bad. For example, you can often negotiate and get a better deal by simply adding one more player from their side, or removing one of your players they are asking for.
Trade difficulty during trading deadline day seems to be lowered somewhat, so the best deals will generally come on that day.
