Hey Sebastian, it's actually this setting shown below which is the key to it all. It's found under GAME -> Game Settings, then scroll to the bottom and it will be as pictured.
You can see here from my manager options, that I have Bud Black as my manager but the drop down boxes on the right (which show as clickable) state that I am in control of the lineups etc etc. Whilst this is possible with
some managers in OOTP
without activating that global setting I've shown above, I always activate it regardless, so that I can change my manager at will and not have to worry about their personal preference for control.
