Again, I play 1871-2023 games and do not see this happening at all with players being used out of position regardless of their offensive ability.
Guys like Pete Rose can have accurate ratings at Infield and Outfield throughout their career, no logic issues there.
Something got fouled up with your game when you toggled the fielding.
