I completely agree about those who live in isolation but that isn't why I love less urban living and a cabin in the middle of nowhere wouldn't be my ideal environment. What makes Lake Tahoe my favorite place of those Ive lived in is a combination of the nature, less crowded, and the fact I'm more of a mountains/forest/lakes/rivers kind of guy. I miss seeing wildlife outside my windows each and everyday which I certainly don't have here in San Diego. Not counting the crows, seagulls, hummingbirds, and the neighborhood cats & dogs(not technically "wildlife" i know).


Although I've never lived there, I have to give a shout out to upstate NY, specifically the finger lakes area as I've visited it multiple times and loved it for some of the same reasons I love Tahoe.
