I noticed, whilst doing imports of historic players (deadball era players, which might be one reason why) that the birthplace of some (not all) is either unknown or incorrect - often the correct city, but the wrong state (Ontario CA instead of Ontario KS for instance)

The common factor seems to be the actual birthplace is a town/community that no longer exists (or still exists as an area/CDP instead of anything incorporated)

Nothing earth-shattering, of course - but curious if anyone else noticed this - I presume updating the city database and then a re-import to adjust birth city codes would fix.
