CBO Signings
An OSA scouting trip has produced three pitchers who may be CBO-ready despite never being associated with any CBO, NWL, or VL teams.
SPs Tony "Vampire" Frazier, Jaylin "Mucky" Timmons, and Air McNair have joined a pool to join the CBO. The CBO also held a true random draw for teams having first rights to the players with Frazier going to the Bunker Hill 75ers, Timmons going to the Diamond City Swatters, and McNair going to the Atom Cats. The Cats have decided to decline offering a contract to McNair after a workout, so he is a free agent.
According to scouting reports, Frazier, 26, is a three-pitch lefty with his fastball being the most dominant of the three. His curve and sinker were also plus-rated. He has good control of his pitches and projects as a 2nd or 3rd starter in the CBO.
Timmons, 24, is a lanky lefty with six pitches he can use in his arsenal. His best pitch is his slider by far, which will help him punch out a bunch of batters. He has good stuff but he needs to show better control in hitting his marks. Scouts believe he has the capability to be a #1 starter.
McNair, 21, may be the best of the three, according to OSA scouts (but apparently not according to Atom's ). The righty has a nasty changeup which appears to almost stop before reaching batters. He also has a decent four-seamer, curve, and sinker in his repertoire. He also has good control and movement, making him a formidable pitcher. Scouts believe he could be a future star in the CBO.
BCAC All-Star Game
The North Division All-Stars reigned supreme tonight at Gwinnett Brewery Park, with a 6-3 triumph over the South Division All-Stars.
North Division third baseman Sepol Lopez led the way for the winning club, putting up a 2-for-3 mark to earn game MVP honors.
"We had some fun out there," he said. "We've got a great league and a great team and I'm not surprised we won."
In his 110-game career Lopez has hit .344 with 135 hits, 21 home runs, and 75 RBIs and has scored 85 runs.
It's All-Star Game time -- time for the superstars to shine! Every year Boston Collegiate Athletic Conference takes a break in the schedule to play the annual All-Star Game. It's a battle of the superstars -- the North Division All-Stars versus the South Division All-Stars. The All-Star Game will spotlight the best hitters, the best pitchers and the best fielders, all doing battle against one another, all trying to prove their league is best.

CYL All-Star Game
All-Star Malden Megabeasts' shortstop Puddle Norman (Jr.) had a night to remember.
Not only did he take the field with the game's best players, he was also a huge factor in the 5-3 North Region victory over the South Region All-Stars.
"We had a meeting before the game, and I was struck by the talent in the room. Old stars, young stars, it's a game I'll never forget," Norman said. "I talked to a few of my friends from back home, and they told me to go out and win the game for them. I'm sure they'll be thrilled."
Looking at his career numbers with the Megabeasts/Green Future Sea Urchins, Norman has played in 201 games with a .282 batting average. Among his 200 hits are 37 doubles, 4 triples and 60 home runs. He has also scored 125 runs and driven in 172 runs.
How would you like to manage a team with more star players than you can play? It wouldn't be an easy chore. That's the dilemma facing the two managers at the annual Commonwealth Youth League All-Star classic -- how to get all the talented All-Stars in the game. But it's a joy for the fans -- to see all their favorite stars on one field at the same time.
