April/May 1901's Memorable Moments + Awards

Now for the moments that we wanna look back on. This list will also include the awards.

April 24th- Earl Moore walks 8 White Stockings, then allows 8 runs in 7th inning
Coincidentally enough, this was the first AL game, and it could not have been any worse for Crossfire. His Blues took the 1-0 lead in the top of the 5th, and then in the 7th, Moore was blown up for 8 runs. He came out of the game after 6 and a third. The Stockings won 8-1.

April 29th- Weekly Awards
Nap Lajoie won the AL POTW award, while Elmer Flick of the other Philly team won the NL POTW award.

May 1st- Doc White shuts down Giants
Doc White made the Giants look small in the Baker Bowl, as White struck out 9 while walking just a pair. New York left 7 men on base, as the Phils won 6-0. The Giants only got 3 hits, and committed 2 errors.

May 6th- Weekly Awards
John Anderson of the Brewers won the AL POTW, while Jimmy Sheckard of the Superbas won the NL POTW.

May 10th- Ginger Beaumont has 5-hit game vs Reds
Beaumont went 5-for-6 against the Reds, driving in 2 and scoring once. Pittsburgh won convincingly at home, 12-4.

May 13th- Weekly Awards
Buck Freeman of the Americans wins the AL POTW, while Jesse Burkett of the Cardinals wins the NL POTW.

May 14th- Hugh Duffy gets 2000th hit
The only hit for Duffy in his game against the Blues was his 2000th career hit, an RBI single to center. The Brewers would win the game, 7-1.

May 17th- Jimmy Barrett gets on his bike
Jimmy Barrett of the Tigers takes Cleveland on a ride, going double-triple-single-homer to pick up the cycle in the 15-7 win for Detroit.

May 20th- Weekly Awards
Nap Lajoie wins another AL POTW award, while Honus Wagner wins the NL POTW award.

May 27th- Weekly Awards
Nap wins back-to-back AL POTW awards, while Barry McCormick wins the NL POTW award.
