LL Hitter - What a way to finish off the year -- being honored with the 2309 Hitter of the Year Award in the Legends League. It had already been a very special season for Everett's David Stahl, but today's announcement really put the icing on his cake.

All season long David Stahl gave opposing pitchers fits by hitting .321 as he collected 126 hits, 28 doubles, 3 triples, 39 home runs and 96 RBIs.

He received 22 first place votes out of a possible 24. Halftime Jumpman of the Abernathy Adamantium finished second in voting, while Nu York of the Medford Medics finished third with 1 first place vote.

SL Hitter - Justin Loki of the Pleasant Lake Patriots proved that you can step out of the shadows and onto the stage if you've got the talent and the drive to hone your skills. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the Stars League Hitter of the Year Award.

Loki hit for a .318 average while collecting 133 hits, 26 doubles, no triples, 67 home runs, 141 RBIs and scoring 98 times.

He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Redface Brickstone of the Wellesley Wanderers finished second in voting, while Jace Nightwatch of the Brookline Bandoliers finished third.

LL Starter - Wicked Good O'Malley finished off a fine season by taking home the Legends League Pitcher of the Year Award today.

The Lynn hurler went 16-7 on the year, posting a 3.58 ERA. O'Malley also tallied 153 strikeouts in 168.1 innings and allowed opposing batters to hit only .236 against him.

He received 18 first place votes out of a possible 24. Adi Gallia of the Graygarden Action Boys finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while John Oldsink of the Arlington Caps finished third.

SL Starter - Brahmin Lover Beardman of the Brookline Bandoliers dazzled the Stars League in 2309, stacking up win after win, finishing the season with 15 victories and 7 losses -- numbers good enough to reap the Stars League Pitcher of the Year Award.

He made 24 starts, hurled 185.1 innings, yielded 141 hits, struck out 181 batters, walked 106 and ended up with a 3.25 ERA. Opposing teams hit .212 against him.

He received 21 first place votes out of a possible 24. Curt Kracke of the Sandwich Bay Snakes finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Tey How of the Brookline Bandoliers finished third.

LL Reliever - 2309 was a year to remember for Ichavod Shoemaker.

The Abernathy Adamantium closer was the owner of a 2.06 ERA this season over 56.2 innings of work. He made 43 relief appearances and had 26 saves, 44 strikeouts, 13 walks and a record of 2 wins and 4 losses.


He's also now got some hardware, as the 31-year-old has been named the Legends League Reliever of the Year Award winner.

"It's something I can tell my grandchildren some day, pretty special," he said.

He received 22 first place votes out of a possible 24. Joey Toohill of the Everett Mutant Hounds finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Ernie Peacemaker of the Finch Farm Shamrocks finished third.

SL Reliever - His manager and teammates call Homeslice Cochrane a true bullpen ace.

The Stars League calls him the winner of the Reliever of the Year Award for 2309.

The Warwick Mirelurks relief specialist out of Natick, Massachusetts, won the award with 20 saves in 31 relief appearances, 49 strikeouts in 68.1 innings and 18 walks.

He compiled a record of 5 wins and 4 losses and had a 2.50 ERA.

He ended up tied with Surrender Hendrickson with 96 total votes and 96 first place votes.

CA Hitter - At the age of 24, Zaire Inquisitor of the Mystic Pines Raybathers could very well have his best years ahead of him.

It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2309 was good enough to win the center fielder the Commonwealth Association Medford Memorial Hitter Award.

"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."

The top hitter put up a .376 batting average this year, as well as a .459 on-base percentage. He played 71 games and racked up 103 hits, 24 doubles, 1 triple, 17 home runs, 54 RBIs and 77 runs scored.

He received 19 first place votes out of a possible 24. Pagetti Rook of the Mystic Pines Raybathers finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Thrifty Iraheta of the Brockton Irish finished third.

MA Hitter - The manager of the Mayoral Shelter Tricentennials said he thinks Pooja Berrie is only going to get better as he gets older.

He may only be 21, but it will be hard to top the catcher's 2309 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Massachusetts Association Medford Memorial Hitter Award.

His winning campaign featured a .375 batting average and a .455 on-base percentage this year. In 83 games he piled up 112 hits, 22 doubles, no triples, 27 home runs, 87 RBIs and 74 runs scored.

He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 24. Kasumi Goto of the Hull Lead Bellies finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Chin Chin Chickerling of the Forest Grove Pugilists finished third with 2 first place votes.

CA Starter - The Mystic Pines Raybathers have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Zaire Inquisitor, this year's Commonwealth Association Milton General Pitcher Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance.

Inquisitor compiled a 15-2 record in 18 starts, tallied 116 strikeouts in 120.2 innings and recorded a 3.21 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .255 batting average against him.

He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Different Lopez of the Tenpines Bluff Manta Men finished second in voting, while Ma'Khail Redstick of the Taffington Boathouse Spy Hunters finished third.

MA Starter - Criticals ace Boston Gloston is the latest Massachusetts Association Milton General Pitcher Award trophy winner. The Neponset Park star shined on the diamond time and again this year and finished with an outstanding 13-4 record.

In 22 starts he tossed 134 innings, posted 127 strikeouts and sported a 3.16 ERA. Opposing batters hit .209 when Gloston was pitching.

He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Ice Water Williams of the Forest Grove Pugilists finished second in voting, while Make Money of the CGP Demolitionists finished third.

CA Reliever - He may only be 22, but Pink Floyd of the Mystic Pines Raybathers has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the Commonwealth Association.

The reliever was today named the CA Slocum's Joe Reliever Award winner for 2309.

He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up 20 saves in 34 relief appearances and 36 strikeouts in 36.1 innings. He had a record of 5-1 to go with his 0.99 ERA.

He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Thrifty Tony Malacara of the Woburn Bobbleheads finished second in voting, while Robby Kneeland of the Outpost Zimonja Strongbacks finished third.

MA Reliever - Roy Kates of the Neponset Park Criticals said he never set out to win the Massachusetts Association Slocum's Joe Reliever Award this season, but he'll certainly take it.

"2309 was a pretty good year for me, that much is obvious," he said. "This is icing on the cake."

The 27-year-old out of Rochester, New Hampshire fashioned a 2.09 ERA this season over 51.2 innings of work. He made 44 relief appearances and had no saves, 35 strikeouts, 15 walks and a record of 4 wins and 1 loss.

He received 23 first place votes out of a possible 24. Claw Wetwalker of the Charles View Cannibals finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Matchbox Ollivierre of the Plymouth Pilgrims finished third.

NL Hitter - The future looks extremely bright for Billy Begg. At the age of 18, many players are still trying to find their way in Greater Boston Rookie League.

Begg has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the North League Future Player of the Year Award.

"I didn't expect to hit .313 this year, that's for sure," the right fielder said.

The Parsons Asylum Greasers star also put up a .479 on-base percentage this year, with 91 hits, 17 doubles, no triples, 28 home runs, 67 RBIs and 70 runs scored.

He received 18 first place votes out of a possible 24. David Bloatfly of the Parsons Asylum Greasers finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Tray Morgueman of the Greentop Nursery Night People finished third.

The 21-year-old hurler finished the year 8-3 for the Med-Tek Eyebots, piling up 100.2 innings, registering 105 strikeouts and walking 30 on his way to a solid 2.95 ERA.

He received 14 first place votes out of a possible 24. Hawk Lanta of the Nuka Express Chrono Cowboys finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Red Eagle of the Union Hope Lifegivers finished third with 3 first place votes.

NL Reliever - At the age of 19, Bond Jovie says he still has a lot to learn about life in Greater Boston Rookie League.

But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Belmont Sneakers reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2309 North League Clutch Arm Award.

"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the
Hartford, Connecticut native said.

For the season, Jovie had 18 saves in 33 relief appearances, which totaled 35. He fanned 34 betters, while walking 14 and put up a record of 3-3 to go with his 2.57 ERA.

He received 21 first place votes out of a possible 24. Alex Holmes of the Union Hope Lifegivers finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Vantus Loreius of the Med-Tek Eyebots finished third with 1 first place vote.

His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 19-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the South League Clutch Arm Award for 2309.

The Plainfield, Connecticut native won the award with 1 save in 31 relief appearances, 40 strikeouts in 38.1 innings and a record of 5-1 to go with his 0.94 ERA.

He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Omari Rahmings of the Hyde Park Stingwings finished second in voting, while Diamond Calmhead of the Beantown Brewers finished third.
