The Orioles finished 3rd in the AL East with an 87-75 record 5 games back of the division winning Detroit Tigers. The Orioles feature a host of familiar names including Dickie Thon, Gorman Thomas, Dave Concepcion and Jim Palmer. The Orioles have the 23rd ranked minor league system and will pick 17th in the upcoming 1980 draft.
