A shame that your ratings can't be imported to overwrite existing ratings in an ongoing save. The same with your revised 2024 draft class.
I'm not a tech guy, but isn't there some way to make that happen? Each player has a unique ID, so it's just a matter of replacing "old" ratings with "new" ratings in the respective file, or?
This game is already great, but being able to update player ratings in an ongoing save once or twice a year in accordance with real-world results would be icing on the cake.
I'd even be willing to pay for that.

There is a way to do this — it's how I start all my new saves, because I want to take advantage of the realism of live start... as well as the improved realism of CBL's rosters (which I also tweak on my own).
It's doable, but the process is a bit laborious and annoying. Basically, I start a new save (or, in your case, start from your existing save), and export rosters to a text file using the function in settings. I open that file in Excel (not sure if you're using a Mac like I am, but if so you should select "Unicode UTF-8" as the importing language, make sure the "Delimited" is checked, and then click on "Commas" as the delimiter when the screen prompts you). I add a new column to that doc as Column A, then number it from 1 to whatever the last row is (probably 10,000, or thereabouts). This is just a dummy column so that when you're done editing you can sort by column A and get everything back in the right order.
From there, open up CBL's roster in another Excel doc (extracting it the same way — open up his save file, and use the export roster function). Copy the entire doc of CBL's roster, and paste it just to the right of the base roster so that they're side by side in the same doc (it helps to reduce the column width of everything but the player ID and names; otherwise you're dealing with a ton of scrolling. From there, there are a couple of ways you can go depending on how thorough you want to be. You can highlight ONLY THE CELLS that contain the non-CBL roster, and sort them by player ID. Then do the same for the CBL cells — select them all, and sort by player ID. The result should be two side by side rosters that have players in the same order, and from there you can paste the CBL side onto the other side.
Or, if you're insane like me and comfortable with Excel, there's another way. Happy to explain in greater detail, but this post is already embarrassingly long as it is — it involves creating two new columns and highlighting duplicates in order to make the two rosters match up with more precision. I wish there was an easier way to use CBL's ratings in a preexisting save or a live start, but as far as I know: this is the way.
