Also, even with the increase in payroll, teams are spending at most 20% of their designated budgets while still making between $200 and $300 thousand in profit every year. It's been years since the league minimum salary rose to 1,000 dollars a year, and rumors are swirling that players are sure to get another wage hike between 1942 and 1943.
