I have players unsigned by there NHL team that are 5.91 talent and 7.04 future talent, former 1st round picks that NHL teams don't sign and allow to stay for there overager year in the CHL.

On top of this, NHL player rights don't work like IRL.


In the game, if a NHL team is holding the rights for a player, they never lose the rights of that player as long as said player stays under contract with another lower level team.


For example, a player drafted is drafted to the NHL in 2029 from the OHL, but never signs with the team and somehow the NHL team still owns his rights in 2033.


Another side note here is why a NHL drafted player is going to play Jr. C instead of signing with his USports team or moving to the ECHL/AHL/Europe.
