At the Ballpark
Much as we love to play OOTP baseball, it's still fun to actually get out to a game. Today I took three of my grandkids to see the Wilmington Blue Rocks play the Brooklyn Cyclones in Wilmington, on "Kids' Opening Day". Leo, who just turned 6, and Kaden (3) got to run the bases after the game. Trey (6 months) slept through most of his first baseball game. Oh, and the home team won in the 10th inning on a sacrifice fly, after a neat RF to 3B double play in the top of the inning. Still at that time of year when the Sally League pitchers are ahead of the hitters, for the most part. You gotta love the minor leagues. Free parking and reasonably-priced food and beverages. Seats five rows off the field. The kids loved the players celebrating by dumping coolers of water on each other on the field. Gorgeous early Spring day in sunny Delaware. No wonder we love this ball game.
