The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired OF/IF Jazz Chisholm from the Miami Marlins in exchange for minor-league left-handed pitcher Matthew Liberatore and low-level outfielder Konnor Griffin.
Chisholm, 27, can play all three outfield positions along with second base.
In 2025, he played in 156 games for Miami and hit .247 with 23 home runs and 71 RBIs.
He broke into the majors in 2020 and over his career has hit .245 with 104 homers and 302 RBIs in 612 games/579 starts.
Acquired in a 2023 trade with Tampa Bay, Liberatore, 26, has had a couple of chances to pitch in the majors and has not done much with them.
In 31 games/18 starts, with the Cardinals Liberatore has gone 5-8 with a 5.51 ERA.
Last season at AAA Memphis, he was 14-8 with a 4.42 ERA in 29 starts.
The second-overall pick in the 2024 draft, Griffin spent a little over a season playing in the Cardinals' minor-league system.
In that time, all spent in rookie ball, he has hit just .226 with eight home runs and 22 RBIs.
