Usually don't have too many problems with finances, but the few times I've gotten into trouble I get rid of my highest paid players and don't pay anyone much for a few years. I tend to only play out a handful of games for these seasons and sim them pretty fast. Then I start a slow careful rebuild with a better financial structure (and a hording of financial points that I throw into PR and stadium improvements)
