MLB news: Sept. 22 -- Brewers put finishing touches on another NL Central title
Despite falling to the Philadelphia Phillies 4-0, the Milwaukee Brewers have been crowned champions of the National League Central Division for the third consecutive season.
In charge of the division from almost the outset, the Brewers sit at 89-62, some 12.5 games in front of the second-place St. Louis Cardinals with 11 games remaining in the season.
Milwaukee will likely have to settle for the No. 2 seed in the NL playoffs as the NL West Division-leading Los Angeles Dodgers, at 100-48, have seemingly already wrapped up the top spot.
The playoff berth is the sixth in the last seven season for Milwaukee.
The Brewers fell to the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2024 World Series.
