Dear gawd, I thought things were going bad in my OOTP universe. I still can nurse the system to get guys to 60.
But yeah . . . the game in its current form is just an unfun grind. I don't know who asked for these "improvements", but the devs may want to filter their inputs better. I can't imagine anyone saying, "What would be fun is if the game became hell on Earth . . . but with spreadsheets!"
Any chance we can all get a code for the beta channel on Steam? At this point, I'd sooner play a buggy beta than this monstrosity.

Why not? In my current game, I lost David Bednar (60 rating) to the Mets because he signed a five-year $29.4m/yr deal. I know the economics of baseball are changing, but dayum.
While we're all noting the reasons why we've quit playing to await the patch: fan interest is broken for me. It doesn't go up with losses or down with signings at all. To get it to even budge, I had to literally cut every popular player on the team. And then it moved alllllllll the way from 59 to 54.
Seriously, I don't know who asked for these "improvements," but dear devs, please stop listening to them. YouTube and social media aren't reality, and I assume those were the sources because I can't imagine how anyone would the game to become a soulless grind. Please, all I want to do is live in an alternate universe where the Pirates win a World Series before I die.
