Phillies Win Nail-Biter
Chicago first baseman Frank Chance was sensational. He went 5-5 with 2 doubles, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Philadelphia beat the Cubs, 7-6, in 10 innings. The Phillies saw their record improve to 48-58.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Philadelphia. That's when Mike Grady, who is tied for 4th in the NL with a .479 slugging percentage, hit a run-scoring double off Tully Sparks to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"It's great to see the crowd jacked up," Grady said.
