The scouting discoveries are not very good in general. They're not really mostly going to be future MLB players, either in game (now that they're fixed) or in real life, except in some rare cases. They're there to fill out the DSL mostly. If you curtail them too much, you'll find you don't have enough players and will start getting roster errors there.
