Before the scale was just too compressed even to properly recreate the minors, never mind other leagues like for example the British National Baseball League.

I agree with this completely. What worries me (and I definitely brought this up at the time) is how it will translate to other international leagues…that frankly, people have been importing for two versions now. Of course the development team won’t be offering any help here though.
