This is my latest attempt at a fictionalized Cleveland team, and I'm pretty happy with it, the Cleveland Cuyahogas.
1. the team is named after the river that runs through Cleveland
2. the name works for the 19th through 21th centuries - currently we only have the Colorado Rockies but there were previous location-location names like the Pittsburgh Alleghenies or Brooklyn Atlantics
3. the name is
believed to come from an indigenous language, creating a connection to the longtime name of the team
4. the Cleveland Guardians play right next to the river and are named for a bridge that crosses it
5. everybody knows that this river is famous for having caught fire!
6. Cleveland's navy and red work pretty well to represent a river that is on fire
The clip art lift bridge is meant to represent the
"Iron Curtain" bridge at the mouth of the river. I did one with off-yellow/white and one with orange.
