NWL Update
The Grape Painted Ghouls lead the North Bradberton Division, while the Cherry Ghoulrillas and Orange Tourists are tied for the South Bradberton lead.
Diss Montand may be much younger than other hitters in the Nuka World League, but he performed like a seasoned veteran in June to win the Batter of the Month award.
The 25-year-old Victory first baseman hit .473 with 2 home runs, 15 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
Presently Montand is batting .456 and has collected 4 home runs, 32 RBIs, .484 OBP and scored 39 runs.
The Nuka World League scribes have selected June's Pitcher of the Month and have awarded the honor to Smoker Caliman of Quantum. He was outstanding on the hill last month and has the numbers to prove it -- a 5-0 record.
The Nukalurks star performer made 6 starts with a 1.90 ERA and surrendered 46 hits in 47.1 innings. He struck out 35 and walked 7.
Caliman has made 12 starts so far this year and put up a 6-1 won-lost record with a 3.77 ERA. In 88.1 innings he has allowed 103 hits, walked 15 and struck out 65.
Holotta Love earned June's Rookie of the Month honors in the Nuka World League for last month's performance. The boyish Orange right fielder might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level.
Love hit .351 with 7 home runs, 15 RBIs and 19 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award.
This season Love is batting .338 with 67 hits, 12 home runs, 25 RBIs, 9 walks, .385 OBP and has scored 30 runs. He has played in 48 games.
NWL Minors
In the APL North Division, the Safari Adventure Gazelles (Wild) have a three-game lead. The Nuka Town Operators (Orange) have a five-game lead in the APL South Division.
Phil Dot has a lot going for him. The Bradberton second baseman just broke into the majors this year and now the Amusement Park League has just picked him as its top hitter for June.
In 26 games last month this outstanding rookie batted .343 with 7 home runs, 30 RBIs and 25 runs scored.
This year Dot has batted at a .390 pace with 76 hits, 16 home runs, 57 RBIs and scored 51 times.
Nuka Bottling Plant Pack hurler Greenhouse Caceres was rewarded today with the Amusement Park League Pitcher of the Month honors. Caceres, 29, realizes that pitching isn't all about how hard you can throw, it's about accuracy and about picking yourself up even when you've had a run of bad luck.
"I'd like to say I don't give them anything to hit," said the Nuka Bottling Plant starter, "but that's not true. Every pitcher gives up a long ball now and then. Usually there's at least one mistake in each at-bat, but you've got to battle through your mistakes and build some positive momentum. The rest will fall into place."
Things did fall into place for Caceres. In June he took the ball for 40 innings while notching 23 strikeouts, a 2.70 ERA and a 5-0 record.
This season to date Caceres has a record of 7 wins and 1 loss with a 5.00 ERA, has appeared in 11 games and struck out 28 in 63 innings.
In the NWLRL, division leaders are the Red Rocket Radrats (Quantum) and the Dunmore Ferris Wheels (Orange).
Even though he is a newcomer to NWL Rookie League, Young Hee Cyuleez put up some good numbers in June and earned the NWLRL Batter of the Month award.
He was one of Dunmore's offensive leaders with a .429 average in 24 games. He also racked up 8 home runs, 21 RBIs, and 19 runs scored.
Cyuleez is currently batting .398 with 15 home runs and 39 RBIs.
The best at putting a stop to late-inning rallies in the NWL Rookie League in June was Kornet Claire of the Dunmore Ferris Wheels. For his stellar work out of the bullpen, he has been named Pitcher of the Month.
He chalked up a 3-0 record, 10 relief appearances and 5 saves with a 3.86 ERA. Claire pitched 11.2 innings and rang up 14 strikeouts.
So far this year Claire has delivered 12 saves. In 22 relief appearances he has 25 strikeouts in 23.2 innings with a 5.32 ERA and 4 wins and 1 loss.
Bradberton Boys League
The Starport Nuka Hubologists stunned the Ol Sugartop Buckaroos by sweeping the Bradberton Boys Series 2-0. The Hubologists dumped them 8-4 today at G-Force Field in the deciding game of the series.
This was the 2nd time Starport Nuka has been the league champions. During the regular season the powerful Hubologists chalked up a 24-16 mark and finished in first place in the BBL.

Vim! League Update
The Echo Lake Harbormen have a sizeable six-game lead in the Fog Division, while the Far Harbor Ghoul Whales have just a one-game lead in the Harbor Division.
Lo Enright no doubt wishes every month could be like June was for the Cranberry Island shortstop.
He wore out opposing pitchers to a .432 batting average and has been named the Vim! League Batter of the Month.
On the month, Enright added 6 home runs, 20 RBIs, 24 runs scored and a .488 on-base percentage.
On the year Enright has hit .356 with 7 home runs, 29 RBIs and scored 35 runs.
The Pitcher of the Month Award has been announced and the Vim! League winner is Echo Lake hurler, Jason Clemons. For his fine efforts in June he has been named the league's #1 pitcher.
During the month, Clemons excelled with a 2.76 ERA and 6 wins and no losses. In 45.2 innings he struck out 29 and gave up 44 hits and 14 walks.
His record this year is 8-1 in 10 starts and Clemons has a 3.49 ERA.
Youngster Gladder Questseeker emerged as the latest Vim! League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Grand Hotel deserved the honor, batting .426 with 6 home runs and 25 runs batted in. Is the month of June a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Questseeker enjoy the limelight.
So far this year Questseeker has 12 home runs and a .405 batting average.
In the MDIL, the Nucleus Radchickens (Eden Meadows) lead the Small Bertha Division and the Eagle's Cove Harpooners (Acadia) lead the Old Longfellow Division.
When Jason Lowder stepped up to the plate in June he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the Mount Desert Island League Batter of the Month award.
The young Eagle's Cove first baseman posted a .383 batting average with 10 home runs, 28 RBIs and scored 20 runs. Lowder also worked pitchers for 8 walks to post a .427 on-base percentage.
This year Lowder has hit at a .361 clip with 47 RBIs, 18 home runs and 41 runs scored.
The elite pitcher this past month in the Mount Desert Island League was Josh Dry of the Eagle's Cove Harpooners. He stood head and shoulders above the rest, finishing June with an extraordinary 4-0 record and a 3.12 ERA.
The Harpooners star hurler made 5 starts and surrendered 30 hits in 34.2 innings. He struck out 23 and walked 10.
This year Dry has a 6-2 record with a 3.90 ERA in 10 starts.
In the Vim! Rookie League, the Vim Factory Pops (Echo Lake) lead the Western Atlantic Division and the MS Azalea Shipwrecks (Eden Meadows) lead the Eastern Atlantic Division.
Vim Factory Pops fans believe they've got a talented young star in Daydream Armhorn.
He did nothing to dissuade that notion in June, as he hit .430 with 9 home runs, 30 RBIs and 27 runs scored.
The end result was the left fielder being named the VIM! Rookie League Batter of the Month.
Currently Armhorn has 13 home runs and a .406 batting average.
When Bug Zapp takes the hill, he's a good bet to nail down the victory for the Fringe Cove Champions. At least that's the way it was in May.
He excelled with a 3-0 mark and 2.80 ERA in 6 starts. In 35.1 innings, he fanned 30 and walked 9.
That's why he was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the VIM! Rookie League.
So far this year Zapp has a 5-1 record with a 3.12 ERA.
In the Maine Youth Leagues, the Beaver Creek Bowlers and Pleasant Cove Raiders met in the finals.
The Pleasant Cove Raiders made it look easy today as they collected the 1st Maine Youth Series championship in club history.
They swept the Beaver Creek Bowlers in straight games, winning the series 2-0. The Raiders disposed of Beaver Creek 2-1 in the series finale at Pleasant Cove Park.
"They were the better team this year, no doubt about it," said Bowlers manager Derek LeBlanc.
During the regular season, Pleasant Cove put up a 27-13 record and finished first in the Great Diamond Island League.
